Objectives:
- Systematic analysis and evaluation of potential environmental impacts associated with a product or process by determining materials, equipment, energy utilized, and waste eliminated to the environment.
- Support the operating divisions on their development towards more sustainable process or products.
Main Tasks:
- Validation of Scope 3 assessments/calculations of BASF suppliers
- Continuously maintain and expand broad knowledge on different LCA and Carbon Footprint (CF) calculation standards
- Management of the respective Scope 3 requests in collaboration with BASF Corporate HQ and procurement
- Direct interaction with BASF suppliers (including counterchecks of process models used for calculation of Scope 3 emissions for Executive Specialists)
- Global collaboration with BASF LCA practitioners and procurement community
Job Requirements:
- Education: Master Degree (Science, Engineering)
- Working Experience:
- Work experiences, preferable in chemical and/or petrochemical industry
- Sound knowledge of chemical production and/or process engineering
- Good understanding of chemical processes as well as process modelling and analysis
- Experience in coordinating tasks and in project management
- Soft skills in communication and moderation in/of heterogeneous groups and multiple interfaces
- Analytical thinking and decision-making skills
- Technical & Professional Knowledge:
- Good knowledge in LCA standard software, e.g. GaBi, Umberto and/or openLCA, as well as in process analysis
- Understanding of LCA methodology & first experience in LCA project work (master and/or PhD thesis counts as project)
- Fluent in Mandarin & C-level in German and/or English language, additional languages are of advantage
