Role Overview
The Marketing Specialist plays a vital role in enhancing the visibility and impact of Frontiers' flagship content and strategic projects, such as Frontiers for Young Minds, Frontiers in Science, and the Planet Prize, in the China market.
This role is responsible for planning, localizing, and executing targeted digital campaigns and outreach activities that engage researchers, educators, and the wider public. By delivering data-driven insights and adapting global strategies to local needs, the Marketing Specialist helps strengthen brand reputation and ensure alignment with both global and regional objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and execute marketing campaigns for Frontiers VIP Flywheel content, including Frontiers for Young Minds, Frontiers in Science, Planet Prize and other flagship programs.
- Localize global messaging and campaign materials for the Chinese academic and public landscape, in collaboration with internal teams.
- Monitor social media trends and apply insights to enhance brand relevance and visibility.
- Analyze performance metrics (e.g., reach, engagement, impact) and refine strategies to improve campaign outcomes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain consistent branding and messaging across all platforms.
- Organize and participate in offline events to build relationships with scholars and influencers, expanding Frontiers' presence in academic communities.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- 2–3 years of experience managing social media platforms and digital campaigns, with a proven track record of increasing engagement and visibility.
- Strong understanding of digital and social media platforms, especially in academic and scientific contexts.
- Experience in content creation and promotion for flagship projects, with the ability to tailor messaging for diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in social media management tools and basic graphic design software.
- Analytical skills to track, report, and optimize campaign performance using key digital marketing metrics.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Chinese.
- Creative mindset with the ability to generate compelling content ideas around science and education.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience in the publishing industry is highly preferred, particularly in roles involving digital content and community engagement.
