Job Description
The Successful Applicant
- Technology Research & Innovation
- Lead the analysis of global technical trends (e.g., electromechanical integration, high-speed actuation) to define product iteration roadmaps.
- Develop advanced testing protocols to evaluate new designs, materials, and surface treatments under extreme automotive conditions.
- Failure Analysis & Process Optimization
- Investigate root causes of product failures (e.g., wear, preload deviation) through systematic root cause analysis (RCA) and propose corrective actions.
- Optimize CNC machining, heat treatment, and assembly processes to reduce defects by ≥30% and improve OEE.
- Cost-Effective Mass Production
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to simplify production steps, reduce material waste, and achieve cost savings of ≥15% YoY.
- Implement DFMA (Design for Manufacturability) principles to balance performance with scalable production.
- Cross-Functional Leadership
- Partner with R&D, quality, and production teams to bridge technical innovation and industrialization gaps.
- Support Tier 1 client projects by resolving technical escalations and ensuring compliance with automotive standards (e.g., ISO 26262, IATF
- Knowledge Sharing
- Document practices and train junior engineers on advanced methodologies (e.g., FEA simulation, surface integrity analysis).
Must-Have:
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field; PhD preferred.
- 8+ years of hands-on experience in ball screws and bearings /R&D for automotive Tier 1 suppliers (e.g., Bosch, Magna, ZF).
- Expertise in ball screws and bearings dynamics, preload optimization, and lubrication systems.
- Proven success in root cause analysis (RCA) and process FMEA for high-volume manufacturing.
Nice-to-Have:
- Experience with industry 4.0 tools (e.g., digital twin, predictive maintenance).
- Certifications in Six Sigma (Black Belt), PMP, or Automotive SPICE.
- Fluency in English (technical documentation, client presentations).
Core Competencies:
- Strong data-driven problem-solving skills with proficiency in CAE/CAD tools (e.g., ANSYS, SolidWorks).
- Ability to lead cross-cultural teams and manage timelines for global client projects.
