Project Support Officer, based in Beijing (China)
.
The project:
The
European Union Intellectual Property Office
(EUIPO) will shortly launch the next phase of the
IP Key China Action
, which overall objective is to level the playing field for European companies operating in China by contributing to greater transparency and fair implementation of the IPR protection and enforcement system in China.
Its specific objectives are:
- To promote progressive convergence of China towards European standards in IPR legislation, protection and enforcement and the development of best practices;
- To support the interest of European innovators and right holders trading with or investing in China;
- To contribute to greater transparency and fair implementation of the IPR protection and enforcement system in China and
- To increase political and public awareness of the importance of IPR protection.
Location:
Beijing, China
Period:
to start in December 2025 for a duration of 33 months.
The tasks include, supporting the project leader in:
- the identification of the needs of the project for horizontal services in the field of communication and awareness;
- the identification of communication priorities in line with the EC Delegation and the national counterparts;
- the elaboration of project and annual workplans and forecast budgets;
- monitoring resources and activities and preparing periodic reports;
- the establishment and maintenance of functional working relations with appropriate national agencies and ministries in the counterpart country;
- the representation of the action towards all relevant stakeholders on site, including international and bilateral donor agencies, private sector actors, academia, etc.
- together with the communication officer in Alicante, define the communication plan of the action as well as of annual plans for the implementation of awareness and communication activities.
For the activities in the area(s) of competence:
- liaise with national counterparts to define the structure and schedule;
- elaborate the draft budget, workplan and terms of reference;
- identify appropriate resources in collaboration with the team in Alicante and the responsible EC Delegation;
- draft the terms of reference for external experts and services providers, oversee the logistics organisation of all aspects of the activities;
- provide necessary information to all staff involved both on-site and in Alicante to ensure that planning and financial procedures are respected;
- evaluate the satisfaction of participants, elaborate final activities reports and evaluate the performance of the external contractors involved.
The
profile requirements
are:
- Proficiency in Chinese and good knowledge of English (level C1).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in working with the project's stakeholders (Chinese authorities, EU delegation, private sector).
- Experience in communication tasks.
