About this position:

We are seeking a results-driven Senior Account Manager to join our China team. This role is pivotal in expanding our customer base and strengthening client relationships across universities, research institutions, and corporate accounts. The ideal candidate will combine strong academic market knowledge with a proven ability to generate new business and retain existing clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve sales quotas by renewing subscription products and selling additional products and services.
  • Collaborate with AIP Publishing's US Head of Sales and China Country Manager to develop and execute a strategic sales plan aimed at sustaining and accelerating revenue growth. This includes regular online meetings with the US-based staff.
  • Manage and expand existing institutional accounts to secure renewals, drive upsell opportunities for AIPP's partner journal package, and ensure high levels of client satisfaction.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities with universities, research institutions, and the corporate library markets.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key stakeholders and influencers in the academic and research communities.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to provide tailored solutions and analytics to meet customer needs.
  • Ensure sales goals and work are aligned with those of editorial and marketing for China market
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and client needs to inform sales strategies and service offerings.
  • Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and presentations for internal stakeholders.
  • Represent AIP Publishing at industry events, conferences, and client meetings to strengthen brand presence.

Qualification:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher, preferably in science, engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of sales experience in the academic publishing or scholarly information market. Experience with library or research institution clients is required.
  • Proven track record in generating new business and managing existing accounts.
  • Strong professional network and contacts within the academic and research community in China.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and results-oriented.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in both English and Mandarin.
