Position: Senior Landscape Architect (Associate / Senior Associate)

Location: Shanghai

Role and Responsibilities:

Project Leadership & Management

· Serve as the Project Director or Senior Project Manager for multiple landscape architecture projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards.

· Develop and manage project work plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.

· Lead project teams through all phases, from conceptual design and design development to construction documentation and site supervision.

· Ensure rigorous quality control of all project deliverables.

· Client & Business Development

· Act as a primary point of contact for key clients, building and maintaining strong, long-term relationships.

· Manage client expectations, communications, and negotiations throughout the project lifecycle.

· Actively support business development efforts by identifying new opportunities, participating in pitches, and contributing to proposal and fee preparation.

· Operational & Team Leadership

· Provide operational leadership and mentorship to junior and mid-level landscape architects and designers.

· Foster a collaborative, productive, and high-performing team environment.

· Oversee the coordination with internal and external consultants, including architects, engineers, and planners.

· Design & Technical Excellence

· Provide senior-level design direction and creative input for projects.

· Guide and review the production of design presentations, construction drawings, and technical details.

· Ensure design intent is faithfully translated into built work, providing solutions to complex technical challenges.

· Assisting with management of financial tracking and management, including project and team budgets and project financial performance.

Qualifications and Requirements

· Bachelor's or Master's degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited institution.

· 10-15 years of progressive experience in a landscape architecture practice, with a proven track record of managing complex projects.

· Professional licensure or chartership (or equivalent qualification in China) is highly preferred.

· Full professional proficiency in both Mandarin Chinese and English is mandatory, with the ability to lead meetings, prepare reports, and conduct business effectively in both languages.

· Demonstrated expertise in:

· Client Relationship Management: A history of successful client engagement and retention.

· Project Management: Mastery of project planning, financial management, and team leadership.

· Business Development Support: Experience in contributing to the growth of a practice.

· Design & Technical Production: Strong design sensibility and proficiency in guiding the production of construction documents.

· High proficiency in industry-standard software (e.g., AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, Revit, etc.).

· In-depth knowledge of the local Shanghai/Chinese market, including materials, planting, construction practices, and regulatory approval processes.
