Responsibilities
- Acquisition and coordination of client's requests as well as development of fitting patent search strategies and solutions for a tailor-made support with relevant information
- Conduct comprehensive expert search and analysis of technical information in support of research, planning, business development, and intellectual property protection, including state-of-the-art search, patent studies related to novelty, validity, and freedom of operate
- Autonomous selection of relevant and reliable data sources and fitting tools for analysis and evaluation (including AI tools)
- Close cooperation with IP department in Asia Pacific Region, Germany and external patent agencies
Requirements
- Master degree or above, major in chemistry or chemical related subjects; preferably polymer chemistry, organic chemistry or material science
- Education background covers natural sciences, economic chemistry or engineering; Chinese patent agent is a plus
- Proficient in professional patent search tools (PatBase, STN i.e. Derwent and CAplus and local databases) and analysis tools (i.e. PatentSight)
- Profound scientific knowledge and chemical industry experience
- At least 5 years' experience in conducting complex patent and literature searches, i.e. freedom-to-operate, patentability and validity searches, patent expiry & detailed patent legal status (International); Experience in the field of patent is a plus
- Preferred industry experience in chemical industry or patent examiner
- Ability to work independently with high quality and with short deadlines, while maintaining the highest degree of attention to details and follow-through
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent teamwork
- Fluent oral and written English and Mandarin
