SUMMARY
- The Video Editor is responsible for the editorial and postproduction aspects of Asia specific & localized video content for the three core brands of Kids2. This role must possess strong video editing skills and demonstrate a creative and strategic mind that can craft stories that will resonate with the local Asian demographic. This position must also have strong understanding of the trends and ideas not only in editorial/production but also social media and be able to bring those to life in the video medium.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Maintains a professional level knowledge of Adobe Premiere and After Effects and possess the ability to create realistic estimations of editing time needed for video projects and adhere to schedule.
- Supports sales demo video translation production and any Asia exclusive products.
- Field requests from internal partners, retailers and others for additional video formatting and output as necessary.
- Understands the brand guidelines and positioning for each brand and how they each translate to video/motion content and apply these to video content. Must also ensure that all final videos are provided in the appropriate sizing and specs for individual mediums, ranging from social to digital shelf to trade shows.
- Works with team members whenever needs arise relating to editorial, including music and sound design, graphics, color treatment, etc.
- Participates in pre-production and ideation processes and provide feedback with any editorial needs or concerns that should be considered during production.
- Organize dailies, make initial selects and create first rough cuts to be shared and apply feedback as received.
- Manages and organizes the library of footage and ensure all of the content is backed up appropriately and easily accessible,
- Functions as in-house videographer to help capture content as needed during company events, small internal shoots, etc.
- Performs ongoing assessment of resource gaps and recommendations for filling.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- 3+ years related experience and/or training in video production/post-production
- Corporate video production experience desired
- Professional level knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator)
- Professional level knowledge of videographer and camera work
- Based in Shanghai or Zhongshan
EDUCATION & SKILLS
- 4-year university degree
- Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Effective time-management is a must
- Effective communicator across all levels of the organization
- Self-starter, quick-study, excellent communication skills
- Understands written and verbal English. Preferrable fluent.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and consistently deliver high-quality work is a must.
- Great communication skills to ensure not only direct manager is in the loop, but full team as well.
COMPUTER/TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Professional level knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite. Advanced computer skills including Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook.
- Working knowledge of Final Cut Pro, Cinema 4D, any other video editing software a plus.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- This role may be required to lift equipment up to or exceeding 50 lbs on a semi-regular basis.
