RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Instrument Calibration and Maintenance
- Responsible for calibration of X-ray spectrometers (EDXRF), including establishment of standard curves, drift correction and performance verification to ensure accurate and reliable measurement data.
- Perform daily instrument maintenance (such as inspection of X-ray tubes, detectors, and analyzing crystals), record equipment operating status and promptly handle malfunctions.
- Reference Materials and Quality Control
- Manage reference material library, select reference materials with matrices matching the samples to be tested, and optimize calibration methods to reduce matrix effect interference.
- Use control reference materials (QC) to verify calibration validity, ensuring test results meet standards such as ISO/IEC 17025.
- Data Review and Report Preparation
- Analyze calibration data, identify outliers or systematic errors, and propose improvement measures (such as adjusting excitation conditions).
- Prepare calibration reports, clearly state uncertainty evaluation results, and ensure report traceability.
- Safety and Regulatory Compliance
- Comply with radiation safety regulations (such as wearing personal dosimeters, setting up warning signs), ensuring operations meet the requirements of the "Law on the Prevention and Control of Radioactive Pollution".
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED OF THE JOB HOLDER:
- College degree or higher in Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science or related majors, or possess more than 3 years of chemical testing experience;
- Proficient in operating X-ray fluorescence spectrometers (such as equipment from MP, Bruker, Shimadzu brands), mastering instrument calibration procedures and data analysis methods;
- Capable of establishing calibration curves, performing interference corrections and calculating detection limits;
- Familiar with laboratory safety protocols and required to participate in regular safety training;
- Possess basic English reading skills to understand instrument manuals and international standards;
- Proficient in operating both wavelength-dispersive (WDXRF) and energy-dispersive (EDXRF) spectrometers, including sample preparation, calibration curve establishment and data analysis;
- Able to use professional software for spectrum analysis, background correction and quantitative analysis, solving problems such as spectral overlap and interference;
- Understand the importance of reference material library and select appropriate calibration methods based on sample types (such as solid, powder, fused bead);
- Regularly perform instrument drift calibration and use control reference materials (QC) to verify curve accuracy, ensuring long-term testing stability;
- Familiar with interference factors such as matrix effects and mineral effects, able to optimize detection accuracy by adjusting excitation conditions or analyzing crystals;
- Design preparation schemes for different samples (such as metals, ores, coatings) to ensure surface smoothness and particle uniformity, reducing testing errors;
- Able to quickly identify instrument problems (such as X-ray tube aging, spectrometer drift) and take maintenance measures;
- Calibration technicians must possess both theoretical knowledge and practical experience, capable of handling complex samples, optimizing calibration processes, and ensuring data accuracy and repeatability. It is recommended to screen candidates through practical assessment of their standardized operations, problem-solving and data analysis capabilities;
- Willing to work overtime and accept short-term business trips;
- Possess teamwork awareness and concept.
