Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and results-driven professional to join us as an Open Source Hardware Ecosystem and Market Operations Manager. You will serve as the vital link between our products and the global developer community and commercial markets. You must not only deeply understand open source culture and the maker spirit but also possess strong business acumen and market expansion capabilities. Your mission will be to build a thriving developer ecosystem and drive widespread product adoption and commercial success worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
1. Open Source Ecosystem Development and Community Operations
- Develop and execute global growth strategies for open source hardware (development boards/core modules), and lead project operations on platforms like GitHub and Gitee.
- Plan and implement diverse developer engagement programs (e.g., technical articles, maker contests, hackathons) to stimulate community creativity and enhance user activity and loyalty.
- Build and maintain relationships with core developers and key opinion leaders (KOLs), and drive technical advocacy and word-of-mouth promotion.
2. Market Promotion and Execution
- Design integrated online and offline marketing campaigns (e.g., tech seminars, developer conferences, vertical media placements).
- Lead the optimization of product documentation to lower the barrier to entry for developers and increase product adoption.
- Monitor campaign ROI and leverage data analytics to continuously refine customer acquisition pathways (SEO/SEM + community conversion).
3. Distribution Channel Expansion and Management
- Identify and onboard B2B partners, including distributors, solution providers, and educational institutions, to strengthen regional distribution networks.
- Develop channel policies and training programs to empower partners with technical and sales capabilities.
- Establish performance evaluation mechanisms for channels to ensure dynamic balance between resource investment and output.
Qualifications
4. Must-Have Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in the open source hardware/development board field, with at least two of the following:
- Proven experience in open source hardware community operations (experience with GitHub projects of 1000+ Stars is a plus).
- Successfully planned and executed promotional campaigns for development board products (must provide conversion rate/user growth data).
- Managed a network of 10+ distributors or key enterprise accounts.
- Familiarity with the open source hardware industry chain (from chip manufacturers to solution providers, developers, and end-users).
- Proficiency in community operation tools (e.g., Discourse, Jira, Notion) and data analytics platforms.
