Your Impact
You will work with McKinsey consultants to conduct end-to-end research in response to specific requests.
You'll source information from internal as well as secondary data sources, analyze and synthesize this information, and create well organized, concise end products in McKinsey format.
Together with your research colleagues from around the world you will develop and codify knowledge proactively on new, emerging topics that are relevant to McKinsey and our clients in the industry.
You will also have a chance to act as a thought-partner to client teams and clients to structure and prioritize research activities which will have the most impact.
When you prove your capability in your role, you will also be required to play the junior consultant role for a typical McKinsey client study team and work directly with other consultants and the client.
Your Qualifications and Skills
- Master's degree with an outstanding academic record, preferably in automobile or engineering related areas
- 2+ years of relevant work/internship experience
- Strong knowledge in the automobile industry, with a particular focus on any of the major trends in the China auto sector, e.g. autonomous driving, artificial intelligence for the automobile industry, connectivity, SDV (Software defines vehicles), electrification and powertrain, dealership and new retail.
- Professional experience from OEM, suppliers, or relevant research agencies, is a must.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and quantitative skills
- Solid understanding of financial, economic, and general business concepts and terminology
- Strong multi-tasking abilities
- Outstanding numerical agility
- Professional attitude and service orientation; team player
- Proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and LLM tools
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Chinese and English
