DuPont E&I Industrial Solutions has an exciting and challenging position as a Technical Service & Development (TS&D) Specialist for MOLYKOTE specialty lubricants. MOLYKOTE specialty lubricants are designed and engineered to solve lubrication-related problems and save energy by reducing friction and wear. We offer a broad portfolio of specialty lubricants including greases, anti-seize pastes, multipurpose oils, specialty compounds, dispersions, anti-friction coatings and more, for a wide range of applications in automotive, industrial, appliance and maintenance.

The TS&D Specialist will support MOLYKOTE specialty lubricants business in China. The job holder will work closely with local TSD team, BD, sales, distributors and customers to identify and win opportunities, have line of sight and take ownership to develop effective solutions for the region, develop and qualify new products based on customized material properties, coordinate new product launch, serve as a mechanism to feedback regional needs to marketing and R&D to well position MOLYKOTE specialty lubricants and drive sustainable business growth for the region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical service and development support for customers to drive business growth, including performance testing, troubleshooting, new product/application development and associated testing to enable qualification. Conduct lab work and document data properly.
  • Lead projects from conception through implementation and manufacturing. Establish project plans, monitor performance according to plan and is accountable for delivering goals and objectives on targets.
  • Assist with development of product value-propositions and understand competitive landscape.
  • Prepare, update, and maintain technical guides and marketing literature.
  • Conduct technical presentations at company meetings, technical conferences, and customer/partner facilities.
  • Identify and develop opportunities for improvement and business gains. Assist regional commercial and marketing team to develop and achieve business growth plans.
  • Build lab capabilities including new equipment, processes and test methods where needed.
  • Maintain a high level of safety awareness at the program level and is a vocal safety advocate in all operations at the department level.

Qualifications
Required Education, Experience and Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Applied Chemistry/Material Science/Chemical Engineering or related science background is required. Master's candidates are encouraged to apply.
  • A minimum of 2-year work experience in specialty lubricants is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, understand and define customer needs, and drive new product/application development to meet customer needs.
  • Experience with specialty lubricant technologies/applications and tribology (friction and wear) testing is required.
  • Strong background in problem solving, using multiple analytical procedures to identify and characterize product development barriers.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze prior art and incorporate information and knowledge management tools and systems into work. Proficiently use patent analysis tools to maintain expert understanding of a technology/market area.
  • Demonstrated ability to make clear, persuasive, concise, and well-organized oral presentations.
  • Effectively communicate verbally and in writing to team members and management on all aspects of program activity. Excellent English communication skills.
  • Highly motivated and self-directed individual with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with employees at all levels in the organization.
  • Must be able to work well in teams and to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Willingness to travel extensively, about 30-40% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated results in a customer-facing technical role.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and drive new opportunities, and lead cross-functional teams to handle various projects and key customer relationships.
  • Have a proven record of accomplishments, including new products, patents, publications and/or novel product claims.
