Student Recruitment Manager - University of Canterbury

Navitas is seeking a dynamic and experienced Student Recruitment Manager to represent the University of Canterbury (UC) in Shanghai, China. This is a fantastic opportunity to drive international student recruitment and conversion, playing a key role in bringing talented students to UC.

You'll be at the forefront of building UC's brand awareness in China, nurturing prospective students, families, schools, agents, and partner institutions. Your mission will be to increase quality student enrolments, manage crucial partnerships, and support students seamlessly from their initial enquiry through to successful enrolment at UC.

Key Responsibilities:

Recruitment, Marketing and Market Development

  • Develop and execute impactful recruitment activities and marketing campaigns in China, aligning with UC's international strategy.
  • Plan and lead strategic social media campaigns targeting prospective students and their families across key Chinese platforms.
  • Represent UC at education fairs, school visits, and virtual/in-person events.
  • Cultivate and maintain robust relationships with schools, agents, partner institutions, and key stakeholders throughout China.
  • Monitor competitor activities and provide valuable market intelligence to inform strategic decisions.

Student Engagement and Conversion

  • Provide accurate and timely guidance to students and families regarding UC's programmes, entry requirements, and student life.
  • Support conditional offer holders in meeting requirements to convert their offers.
  • Contribute to tailored conversion campaigns, including emails, webinars, and presentations.
  • Track and report on student engagement and conversion outcomes.
  • Collaborate closely with pathway providers to ensure a smooth transition for students to UC.

Agent and Partner Relationship Management

  • Deliver training, updates, and resources to UC's agent network.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for agents and partners in China.
  • Build and manage partnerships with pathway providers and institutions to facilitate student transitions.
  • Ensure compliance with UC policies and New Zealand education standards.

Reporting and Administration

  • Maintain accurate student enquiry and application data within CRM systems.
  • Report on recruitment activities, conversion rates, and market performance.
  • Provide insightful recommendations to inform future planning.
  • Ensure administrative processes are efficient and compliant.

Essential Skills, Knowledge, and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent qualification.
  • 3-5 years of demonstrated experience in student recruitment, international education, marketing, or a related field.
  • Proven experience building strong relationships with agents, schools, pathway providers, and partner institutions in China.
  • Experience planning and executing successful social media campaigns and marketing initiatives targeting prospective students.
  • Experience working effectively in a cross-cultural environment with diverse communities.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluency in both English and Mandarin (written and spoken) is essential
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently.
  • Experience utilizing CRM systems, databases, or reporting tools.
  • Strong existing local networks within China to support recruitment, marketing, and partnerships.
