Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Project Manager to own the customer project lifecycle from order acquisition to final successful delivery. This is not a passive administrative role; it is a central, driving force within our organisation. You will be the primary technical and logistical point of contact for our European customers and the internal leader coordinating all departments to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the exacting quality standards our clients expect.

Your mission is to translate complex customer requirements into clear, actionable plans for our engineering, production, and quality teams, ensuring a seamless and professional experience that strengthens our reputation as a reliable partner in Europe.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Leadership & Coordination (The Core)

  • Serve as the single point of contact for the customer and the internal champion for assigned projects after the handover from sales.
  • Lead and chair internal kick-off meetings to align all departments (Engineering, Production, Procurement, Quality) on project scope, timeline, and deliverables.
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate a detailed project plan, tracking all milestones from design approval to shipment.
  • Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate project risks (technical, logistical, timeline).

2. Technical Liaison & Engineering Coordination

  • Work closely with the sales team and customer to thoroughly understand technical specifications, drawings, and standards (e.g., ISO, UL, customer-specific standards).
  • Manage the engineering change process (ECN/ECR), ensuring all changes are documented, approved by the customer, and communicated effectively to the internal team.
  • Coordinate with the engineering department to review design for manufacturability (DFM) and provide timely feedback to customers.

3. Planning & Scheduling

  • Create and manage the master project schedule, integrating inputs from procurement (materials), production (capacity), and quality (inspection timelines).
  • Monitor critical path items, especially the procurement of long-lead-time components and custom tooling.
  • Provide regular and accurate project status updates to both the customer and internal management.

4. Communication & Stakeholder Management

  • Maintain clear, professional, and timely communication with European customers, accommodating time zone differences as needed.
  • Facilitate flawless internal communication between Sales, Engineering, Procurement, Production, and Quality Control to prevent misunderstandings and delays.
  • Manage customer expectations and escalate critical issues to management promptly.

5. Quality & Delivery Assurance

  • Ensure all quality control plans and inspection criteria are defined and understood by the QC team.
  • Oversee the sample/prototype approval process.
  • Guarantee that all final product documentation (packing lists, test reports, certificates) is accurate and complete before shipment.
  • Be ultimately responsible for the on-time delivery (OTD) performance of your assigned projects.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial), Business Administration, or a related field is prefered.
  • Minimum of 5 years of project management experience in a manufacturing environment,
    preferably in cable harness, wire harness, or electro-mechanical assembly.
  • Proven experience in a
    high-mix, low-volume
    or make-to-order (MTO) production environment.
  • Demonstrable experience in managing international projects,
    ideally with European customers.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and tools (e.g., Gantt charts, Critical Path Method, Risk Registers).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and interact confidently with international clients.
  • Fluent in English and Mandarin (both written and spoken).

Highly Desirable:

  • PMP (Project Management Professional) or equivalent certification.
  • Technical understanding of cable harness manufacturing processes, including crimping, soldering, molding, and testing
  • Familiarity with industry standards such as IPC/WHMA-A-620.
  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Kingdee) and MS Project.
  • Experience with quality management systems (ISO 9001).
  • German or another European language skill is a significant advantage.
