The Engineering Manager will have direct responsibility for Engineering employee safety and Engineering department performance for the Ingevity Zhuhai Plant including the implementation and support of the plant capital budget and continuous improvement efforts.
Here's How You Will Impact Ingevity
- Develop and maintain both near term and 5-year capital plan based on Zhuhai facility status and review with corporate engineering lead team. Work with cross function team to collect ideas and draft proposal for new project
- Capital project annual plan and monthly review, track the status of individual project and share progress, challenge and issues.
- Manage design and construction of approved capital projects with the objective of completing them safely, on-time, and within budget.
- Defining process and equipment requirements for new products, plant expansions and process equipment upgrades while ensuring that all installations meet government requirements and Ingevity specifications.
- Facilitate improvement opportunities and new technical applications to meet production demand and SHE regulation requirements.
- Ensure proper construction management and field oversight. Review and approve overall construction plans, safety plans, quality plans, and other constructions documents, field work management and organization.
- Develop equipment specifications and commissioning plans, ensuring that the equipment is safe and meets the needs of manufacturing.
- Responsible for evaluating vendors (contractors, equipment suppliers, etc..) for safety performance, technical/mechanical capabilities, wage rates, work rules, and any other factors that impact overall vendor cost
- Responsible for ensuring effective collaboration between the maintenance team and all other stakeholders including Engineering, Production, SHE, Quality, and Corporate Purchasing
- Engage with frontline employees on a regular basis to ensure that employee concerns are addressed, ensure work standards, and ensure stakeholders needs are met
What You Need To Succeed
- 5 years' proven track record of achieving business results employing engineering expertise and experience to ensure reliability and maintenance of plant equipment and operations.
- Solid project management skills and with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- A strong background in engineering is critical.
- A BS in engineering is required and an advanced degree in engineering or business is desirable.
- This position requires effective communication throughout all levels of the organization.
