Position Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Learning & Development Manager who will be based in China to lead our global initiatives in learning and development. This role involves conducting needs assessments, designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating impactful learning programs. The ideal candidate will manage multiple projects while effectively engaging with employees at all levels of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborative Needs Assessment:
Partner with internal business stakeholders, subject matter experts, program owners, project teams, and business leaders to conduct comprehensive learning needs assessments and identify performance gaps. - Learning Solutions Design:
Create and develop innovative learning solutions that align with both local and global objectives, ensuring they meet the diverse needs of our workforce. - Project Management:
Oversee multiple complex projects, ensuring effective communication, prioritization, and execution throughout the project lifecycle. - Training Program Support:
Assist local teams and designated business partners in the development and deployment of training programs that enhance employee skills and performance. - Organizational Development Implementation:
Drive organizational development programs, processes, and training initiatives to proactively address business needs through various delivery methods (e.g., live sessions, e-learning, self-paced modules). - Evaluation and Improvement:
Continuously assess training progress and effectiveness, making necessary adjustments based on feedback and objectives. Share best practices with team members to enhance learning outcomes. - Policy and Procedure Management:
Implement and manage learning and development policies and procedures, including auditing, reporting, and yearly training plans. - Team Leadership:
Lead a team of direct reports focused on LMS administration and learning development, providing direction, support, and ensuring the successful delivery of objectives. - Additional Duties:
Perform other related tasks as assigned or requested.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Training, Education, Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
- Training & Development certification is preferred.
Work Experience:
- 7+ years of total work experience, with a minimum of 3 years focused on planning, designing, developing, and implementing learning and development initiatives in a corporate environment.
- Experience in the manufacturing industry is a valuable asset.
Skills:
- Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to collaborate and build trust with stakeholders and employees at all levels.
- In-depth understanding of learning and development processes and adult learning techniques.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of engaging effectively in a multicultural, multinational environment.
- Hands-on experience in training program design and delivery.
- Knowledge of LMS administration (Saba preferred), eLearning course development standards (e.g., SCORM), and familiarity with video production, multimedia tools, and virtual training applications is advantageous.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Teams).
- Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of employees and leadership, taking initiative when necessary and providing support as appropriate.
- Strong knowledge of the manufacturing, engineering, and/or automotive industry is essential.
- Excellent service mindset, self-motivated, organized, detail-oriented, and able to thrive under pressure.
- Experience managing a team of direct reports.
