As a Principal Applications Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and supporting Infineon's digital DC/DC controllers in the intermediate DC/DC bus converters (IBC) for AI computing, data center, server, and telecom applications, specializing in firmware development.
Job Description
In your new role you will:
- Firmware Development and Customization:
a, Develop and customize firmware for XDP digital DCDC controllers to meet specific customer requirements
b, Optimize firmware performance and functionality for various applications
c, Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate firmware solutions into broader system designs
- Example Code Creation:
a, Design and implement clear, well-documented example code for XDP digital DCDC controllers
b, Ensure example code adheres to best practices and coding standards
c, Create comprehensive documentation and user guides for example code
- Testing and Debugging:
a, Develop and execute thorough test plans for firmware patches and updates
b, Utilize debugging tools and techniques to identify and resolve firmware issues
c, Perform root cause analysis on complex firmware problems
- Technical Support:
a, Provide expert technical support to customers and internal teams on firmware-related matters
b, Troubleshoot and resolve customer issues related to XDP digital DCDC controller firmware
c, Collaborate with the customer support team to ensure timely resolution of firmware-related inquiries
- Documentation and Knowledge Sharing:
a, Maintain detailed documentation of firmware development processes, test results, and debugging procedures
b, Contribute to the creation and maintenance of technical application notes and white papers
c, Participate in knowledge-sharing sessions and training programs for team members and customers
Your Profile
You are best equipped for this task if you have:
- BSEE or MSEE preferred in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
- 5+ years of experience in firmware development, preferably with a focus on power electronics or DCDC controllers
- Proficiency in C/C++ programming languages
- Strong understanding of digital control systems and power electronics principles
- Experience with microcontroller programming and real-time operating systems
- Familiarity with debugging tools and techniques for embedded systems
