Academic Service Officer
for its Beijing, China office. ACSI is a wholly owned subsidiary of the American Chemical Society (ACS) and serves the global scientific community. Our team represents ACS products and services—including ACS Publications and CAS—to leading scientific companies, government organizations, global patent offices, and academic institutions worldwide, supporting research and discovery.
About the Role
The Academic Service Officer will strengthen collaborations between ACS and universities in China by delivering training programs and academic services. This position is based in Beijing and reports to the
Director, China Strategy & Scientific Advancement
for ACS International.
Key Responsibilities
- Build partnerships with universities through regular site visits and engagement activities.
- Understand the needs of researchers and students and address them by organizing training sessions and events.
- Provide academic support, including working closely with ACS Publications to assist with publishing services.
- Manage logistics for virtual and in-person events:
- Negotiate contracts with third-party providers as needed.
- Coordinate with marketing teams in the U.S. and China on event materials and promotions.
- Oversee onsite and virtual platform management.
- Conduct post-event surveys and follow-up.
- Support localization of global ACS campaigns in China, including translation, local email campaigns, and WeChat/advertising promotions.
- Assist ACS International Chapters in China with organizing scientific events.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in China as required.
Qualifications
- Master's degree or higher in Chemistry or a related field, with 3–5 years of work experience.
- Experience in academic publishing is highly preferred.
- Strong self-motivation and ability to work independently.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Willingness to travel domestically as required.
