Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience with software development in C or C++ and Python or Shell Scripts, especially in leading embedded software engineering programs of medium-large scale spread across multiple geos.
- Experience in integrating and evaluating various sensor modalities (e.g., Accelerometer, Magnetic, Gyroscope, Baro sensor, Proximity, Light sensor, fingerprint sensor, touch sensor, haptics, Hall sensor, etc.).
- 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science/Electrical Engineering.
- 5 years of experience with Data Structures/Algorithms.
- 1 year of technical leadership with the knowledge of computer architecture and Unix/OS internals including scripting.
- Experience with signal processing, microcontrollers, and digital protocols (GPIO, SPI, I2C).
- Familiarity with sensor core architecture, sensor fusion algorithms (EKF/Kalman Filters) and hardware profiling.
- Excellent creative thinking, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

As a Senior Software Engineer of the Pixel Sensor Intelligence, you will lead the architecture and implementation of embedded software for the majority of the sensors that ship on pixel devices. Your team's mission is to efficiently develop the core device software required for each of the sensors on every Pixel device. You will have experience in real time embedded software development together with expertise in android and algorithms to build exciting features leveraging the sensor data in a power friendly manner.The Google Pixel team focuses on designing and delivering the world's most helpful mobile experience. Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and robust hardware/software architecture suggestions for hardware, AI, and software relevant to the mobile form factor.
- Scale and mentor a highly specialized team of embedded software engineers, fostering their growth while cultivating a culture that blends scientific excellence with a pragmatic, product-driven mindset.
- Diagnose and debug complex hardware/software issues, leveraging a deep understanding of OS tools and Unix/Linux internal knowledge.
- Design and develop efficient testing and verification methods, ensuring a high bar for the quality of deliverables to the end user.
- Demonstrate creative and critical thinking and use stellar communication skills to clearly articulate technical details and collaborate effectively with internal and external leadership.
