About The Job
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Partner to lead our business development efforts across all of ERM's service lines and support Chinese enterprises expanding overseas. This role is ideal for a strategic leader with a strong project finance background, in-depth knowledge of international sustainability standards, and a proven network among Chinese outbound clients.
Responsibilities
Business Development & Client Relationship
- Lead the expansion of client networks, with a focus on international banking institutions, such as Equator Principles Financial Institutions and Multilateral Development Banks, and Chinese enterprises going overseas.
- Utilize existing relationships in the project finance sector to originate and grow advisory projects of new capital investments overseas, especially those requiring ESG, risk management, and sustainability compliance.
- Drive revenue growth through strategic client engagement, solution selling, and cross-team collaboration.
Project Delivery
- Provide high-quality advisory services aligned with international standards, including Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIA), ESG due diligence, and sustainable finance frameworks.
- Ensure alignment with IFC Performance Standards, Equator Principles, and other global sustainability benchmarks in during end-to-end project cycles.
- Oversee multi-disciplinary project teams to ensure timely and high-quality delivery to clients.
Leadership & Team Development
- Serve as a senior leader and mentor, contributing to the growth and capability development of the team.
- Promote a high-performance, collaborative, and client-focused culture across offices and disciplines.
Thought Leadership & Brand Building
- Represent the firm in high-level forums, industry conferences, and client-facing events to elevate brand visibility and thought leadership.
- Contribute to publications, insights, and case studies that highlight best practices in sustainable finance and international advisory.
Require
ments:
- Progesstive experience in sustainability consulting and strong background in project financing obtained either through banking/financial institutions or senior corporate treasury/finance/investment roles that focus on outbound Chinese investments, preferably in senior and/or client-facing roles (e.g. project finance, corporate banking, Head of Treasury/Finance, etc.).
- Solid understanding and experience of international environmental and social safeguarding standards such as IFC Performance Standards, Equator Principles, and sustainable investment frameworks.
- Proven track record of working with Chinese outbound clients, including state-owned or private enterprises engaged in cross-border transactions, overseas investment, or global expansion.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify and convert business opportunities.
- Preferred base location: one of the cities where ERM has premises in mainland China, including Shanghai, Beijing, and Guangzhou.
