About Role

The Communications Lead supports Education in Motion's (EiM) corporate communications function through solid external and internal communication execution and implementation while identifying public relations opportunities. This role ensures EiM's messaging is consistent, impactful, and values-driven while adding value to the company's diverse portfolio of schools and brands.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Corporate Communications


• Plan and deliver proactive public relations (PR) campaigns to raise EiM's profile in China and globally.


• Build and maintain strong working relationships with journalists, media outlets, and influencers, particularly in the Chinese market.


• Draft, review, and edit press releases, media statements, Q&As, and briefing packs in Chinese and English.


• Lead media monitoring, coverage reporting, and press liaison.


• Support the Director in managing sensitive media inquiries and issues-related communications.


• Translate and adapt messaging across English and Mandarin to suit diverse audiences.

2. Issue Management and Support


• Monitor media and social sentiment, flagging risks and opportunities, with a pulse and overall picture of brand reputation.


• Support drafting responses and materials during issues or crises, escalating appropriately.


• Ensure Group and school-level communications reflect consistent tone and brand standards.


• Build stakeholder relationships across the Group headquarters and schools.


• Prepare communications toolkits and briefing materials for internal and external use.

3. Internal Communications and Content Development


• Draft speeches, op-eds, talking points, and thought leadership content for senior leaders.


• Execute internal campaigns that reinforce EiM's values, culture, and strategic direction.


• Work cross-functionally to deploy Group-wide internal communications, including newsletters, updates, and leadership messages. Draft and edit employee communications to build engagement, transparency, and alignment.


• Work with HR and school teams to cascade key messages. Foster collaboration, accountability, and a high-performance team culture.

4. Campaign & Project Coordination and Administration


• Liaise with schools, regional teams, and external agencies to ensure effective execution.


• Track, measure, and report on communications impact using agreed KPIs.


• Manage and oversee budget for function, keeping accurate trackers and overseeing approval matrix, administration of financial portal D365.


• Manage, maintain and seek new and existing vendor relationships, owning contract processes, deliverables, workflows and timelines with external providers.

Skills and Experience


• 3+ years' experience in PR, media relations, and/or corporate communications.


• Native Mandarin and excellent English writing and speaking skills, able to draft and edit at a professional standard in both languages.


• Proven ability to manage campaigns and work cross-functionally.


• Experience delivering communications strategy in complex, international and multi-regional organisations.


• Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills with attention to tone and detail.


• Familiarity with video editing, Mailchimp, Canva and an eye for design is a plus. Agency experience is a plus.


• Highly organised, with ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.


• Flexible, adaptable and willingness to travel.


• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, English or related field.
