The Role
We're seeking a strategic marketing leader to drive B2B and B2B2C marketing for our Exams business in China. You'll lead the development and execution of marketing plans aligned with national, regional, and global strategies, ensuring delivery against business targets.

Working closely with the Exams Strategic Business Unit, you'll bring marketing expertise to shape campaigns, support business planning, and monitor performance through regular reporting. You'll also collaborate across teams to share insights and maintain alignment with the British Council's broader marketing goals.

Accountabilities
The role involves managing the China B2B Exams marketing budget using corporate systems, ensuring cost-effective delivery of marketing activities, and reporting on financial performance. It requires active engagement with internal marketing communities and external partners to support service delivery and knowledge sharing. The role also includes planning and prioritising work to meet internal stakeholder needs, contributing to marketing governance at multiple levels, and providing strategic guidance to China teams on marketing plans and execution.

Requirements Of The Role

  • Considerable experience in developing B2B & partner marketing strategies, plans & programmes within a large and complex organisation
  • Experience in the design and delivery of B2B plans and partner programmes to support products
  • Experience in providing direction, oversight and coaching on the delivery of B2B marketing plans and activities
  • Demonstrable evidence of collaborating & partnering with Sales and Business Development to develop and execute on a holistic end-to-end B2B customer and partner experience
  • Demonstrable experience of digital marketing expertise in CMS, marketing automation, CRM and social media
  • Experience in effectively negotiating budgets and resources with senior stakeholders
  • Experience of delivering results through a dispersed team
  • Experience in delivering financial performance targets through demonstrating effective marketing programmes and processes
