Role Summary
The Director of Standards & Regulations will lead the development and execution of product standards and certification strategies across the Asia region. This role ensures that all products meet regulatory requirements and certification standards in key Asian markets. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in product compliance, strong relationships with certification bodies, and excellent cross-functional leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement regional strategies for product standards and certifications
- Monitor and interpret regulatory changes and technical requirements across Asian markets
- Build and maintain relationships with certification bodies (e.g., CCC, PSE, KC, BIS, UL, CE)
- Collaborate with R&D, Quality, Regulatory, and Commercial teams to ensure product compliance
- Represent the company in international standards organizations and industry associations
- Manage certification timelines and ensure alignment with product launch schedules
- Provide internal training and guidance on standards and compliance best practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Optoelectronics, Quality Management, or related fields
- Minimum 10 years of experience in standards and certification within the lighting or electronics industry
- In-depth knowledge of regulatory frameworks and certification systems in China, Japan, Korea, India, and Southeast Asia
- Experience with international standards (e.g., IEC, ISO) is highly preferred
- Fluent in English with strong technical communication and cross-cultural collaboration skills
- Strategic mindset with hands-on project management capabilities
- Leadership experience or potential to grow into a regional leadership role
