The Fine Wine Ambassador – China, is part of the Business Development Team of MH Wine Estates APAC Team. The role focuses on building desirability and developing brand equity for Moet Hennessy Wine Estate's Fine Wine portfolio across the Chinese market. The Fine Wine Ambassador plays a crucial role in promoting and expanding the presence and distribution of Moët Hennessy Fine wines within the Chinese market, driving sales, and fostering strong relationships with trade, outlets and consumers

Reporting to the Fine Wine Development Manager for Asia Pacific, the position works collaboratively with MHD China and the MHWE APAC Business Development Team. There is a strong cross-functionality with MHWE Central and Maison Teams to enhance brand performance and efficiencies in APAC markets.

The MHWE portfolio is divided between Fine Wines (Joseph Phelps, Ao Yun and Bodega Numanthia) and Lifestyle Brands (Minuty, Château d'Esclans, Château Galoupet, Cloudy Bay and Terrazas de los Andes).

Job Responsibilities
Fine Wine Development & Growth – Internal

  • Partner with MHWE APAC and MHD China to drive business development, sales, and ambassadorial support for Fine Wine brands.
  • Communicate and execute strategies to enhance brand desirability through tailored distribution, relationship building, and customer engagement.
  • Align with local teams on a customer hit list to accelerate distribution via pitching, engagement, and sales collaboration.
  • Implement and manage internal training on the MHWE Fine Wine portfolio.
  • Support brand activations with the Brand Activation Team to deliver commercial targets and ROI.

Fine Wine Development & Growth – External

  • Build strong relationships with distributors, wholesalers, outlets, and key trade stakeholders; provide training to deepen fine wine knowledge.
  • Develop and execute a tasting and events calendar to increase visibility with trade, consumers, and HNWIs.
  • Be active in market with MHD China sales teams to strengthen customer relationships and distribution opportunities.
  • Drive advocacy by engaging sommeliers, outlets, and KOLs to boost brand exposure.
  • Educate consumers through tastings and events to enhance appreciation of fine wines.

Market Analysis, Insights & Trends

  • Monitor trends, consumer preferences, and competitor activities in the Chinese wine market.
  • Provide reports to MHD China on sales opportunities, insights, and recommendations for MHWE Fine Wines.
  • Support commercial projects aligned with Maison and market priorities.

Maison & MHWE Engagement

  • Share regular updates with MHWE and Maisons on trade/consumer engagement, performance drivers, and competitor activity, with action recommendations.
  • Facilitate and manage market tours for Maison and regional guests, integrating trade, media, and consumer activities.

Profile
Education:

  • University degree

Professional experience & know how:

  • Proficient wine knowledge (minimum WSET level 2) and passion for the wines & spirits industry
  • Minimum 8 years working in the wines & spirits industry
  • Knowledge of the Chinese wine market, including consumer preferences, distribution channels, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proven business acumen with a strategic mindset
  • Strong interpersonal skills, fostering positive relationships with stakeholders, clients, and team members
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Fluency in Mandarin Chinese and English
  • Willingness to travel frequently within China and occasionally internationally.
