Job Summary

This position provides technical liaisons between Ennovi and its customers, providing technical support, product demonstrations, and solutions to meet customer needs. This position is part of the Signal Interconnect team, working closely with cross functional team to develop/design/support new applications with our customers. Participate in the early stages of product development including interface directly with customer to establish product specifications and/or define product requirements. Support the product development activities from concept to mass production.

Main Responsibilities

  • To be the main product technical contact for Build to Print Products for Signal Interconnect Products:
  • Perform feasibility study on customer products and work with ME team to ensure product manufacturability from product design point of view.
  • Overseeing the product development from RFQ to NPI and mass production.
  • Participate with application engineers, other PD members, PPD and ME teams in product design review.
  • Provides technical support to RFQ/RFI and participates in any design analysis such as DFMEA, DFM and DFA etc.
  • Assisting Sales and AEs by performing Customer Specification Reviews, developing Product Requirements based on Customer Specs, and performing customer technical presentations of new product proposals.
  • Developing application concepts for customer proposals, turning concepts into product designs. Creating, supporting, and maintaining Product Mechanical and Electro-Mechanical DFMEA.
  • Creating 3D models and 2D drawings. Adhering to Product Release, Design and PDM guidelines. Participate in FEA analysis using either Ansys HFSS or workbench.
  • Assisting with creation of DVP&R validation plans, overseeing, and performing validation testing, reviewing, and writing test reports, providing Engineering disposition/conclusion.
  • Training/assisting less experienced engineers regarding technologies, signal integrity and high data rate / high speed performance.
  • Support the PPD and AE team on product line strategy and direction.
  • Work in compliance with procedures relating to quality management systems and in the Code of Ethics and Business Conduct.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Requirement:
  • BS in Engineering (Preferably Mechanical Engineering or Electro-mechanical Engineering).
  • 2-4 year of experience in a similar position (external & internal candidates)
  • Must have:
  • Intermediate – English Verbal and Writing skills.
  • Understand the relevant industry Product Standard and Safety requirements.
  • Good Knowledge - Product Design
  • High speed signal interconnect product
  • Design for Molded Plastic, Material Selection, Manufacturing Processes, Tooling
  • Design for Sheet Metal, Material Selection, Manufacturing Processes, Tooling
  • Fundamentals, Engineering Principles & Mechanics, Design Computations
  • Solidworks 3D CAD, 2D CAD, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), DFMEA, DFM, statistical tolerance analysis, 6 sigma, 8D problem solving.
  • Knowledge of materials for high data rate, low dielectric constant, and severe environment.
  • Connector systems such as stackable/modular constructions, polarization techniques, environmental sealing, hybrid combined signal/power connector designs, cable shielding, extreme temperature, vibration, and shock.
  • Work experience in the connector business including PCB, signal transmission, systems design.
  • Microsoft Office software experience: MSWord, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated business acumen.
  • Preferred:
  • Knowledge of basic manufacturing processes including progressive stamping, molding, automatic assembly, and automatic inspection.
  • Autonomous driving systems & I/O, PCB, low dielectric materials, pulse current, contact physics, EMI shielding knowledge and design experience.
  • Working understanding of Automotive SPE connectors >10 Gbps, 40Gbps Ethernet, and RF transmission to 15GHz +
  • Project Management, Operations, and manufacturing background is a plus.
  • Other working conditions required:
  • Required to travel 1 to 3 times per month.
  • Able to work overtime when needed/requested.
