About This Position
- The Dragon Plant Quality Manager will lead the plant quality organization, ensuring product and process compliance with Henkel global standards, customer requirements, and regulatory expectations. This role plays a pivotal part in strengthening quality governance, driving continuous improvement, and building a resilient organization through structured talent development.
- The manager will oversee both Quality Engineering (QE) and Quality Control (QC) teams, ensuring seamless coordination, timely customer response, and proactive risk management. As Dragon Plant is a strategic site within the Adhesive Technologies portfolio, this position offers significant exposure to cross-regional collaboration and global quality initiatives.
What you´ll do
- Quality Leadership & Governance:
- Lead the plant quality organization, ensuring alignment with global standards and corporate quality strategy.
- Establish and monitor KPIs for product quality, customer complaints, and process performance.
- Customer Engagement & Issue Resolution:
- Act as primary quality contact for key customers, ensuring rapid response and effective problem-solving (8D/FRPS).
- Drive customer complaint resolution, root-cause investigations, and sustainable corrective actions.
- Quality Engineering & Control:
- Oversee QE and QC teams with a clear separation of responsibilities to strengthen specialization.
- Ensure effective laboratory operations, product release, and compliance to specifications.
- Support implementation of QC-Lad, digital tools, and new quality systems.
- Continuous Improvement & Risk Management:
- Deploy quality improvement projects (A3/GB level) to enhance process robustness and reduce defect rates.
- Implement proactive risk management, including FMEA, SPC, and systematic audits.
- Talent & Capability Development:
- Build a strong Manager–Supervisor–Engineer talent pipeline to ensure scalability and succession planning.
- Coach and develop team members in technical knowledge, customer focus, and problem-solving skills.
What makes you a good fit
- Education: Bachelor's degree or above in Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, or related discipline.
- Experience: Minimum 8–10 years of experience in plant or manufacturing quality, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Technical Competence:
- Strong background in problem-solving methodologies (8D, FRPS, A3, DMAIC).
- Knowledge of adhesive or chemical manufacturing processes preferred.
- Proficiency in product qualification, customer audits, and quality system management.
- Leadership Skills:
- Demonstrated ability to lead large, diverse quality teams.
- Strong ownership, accountability, and customer focus mindset.
- Language: Fluent in both written and spoken English and Chinese.
