Job Overview
Welcome to Harrow Guangzhou
Harrow Guangzhou opens in August 2026. The 13th school opened by AISL (Asia International Schools Limited), it will be one of China's finest schools. AISL is one of the leading providers of education in East and South East China, with a history stretching back more than 25 years, and with a continuing, strong partnership with Harrow School in London.
Our school will be a special place. It will ultimately welcome 1,530 students across 65 classes and approximately 300 boarding spaces for children aged 3-18 from expatriate families and residents of Hong Kong SAR, Macau SAR, and Taiwan region. Its facilities are outstanding, matching its ambitions: the creative arts and sports are very well catered-for, and we also have a high-tech innovation centre, the FutureLab, connected to our Entrepreneurship Centre, which will give our pupils the opportunity to develop their entrepreneurial and creative skills in an environment filled with the very latest technology.
We are a British international school following the English curriculum adapted for our context. Pupils will progress through our bespoke Harrow Little Lions Early Years curriculum, and an English-rich Primary and Lower Secondary curriculum before taking GCSEs, IGCSEs and A Levels. Pupils will then be supported to move onto the very best universities in the world. We will also be offering a full, rich range of extra-curricular activities and leadership opportunities, shaped by the AISL Harrow Diploma.
And we will be a warm, wonderful school where we look after our pupils, our families and all our staff with love and care. We are ambitious for our whole community; we also know, deep in our bones, that pastoral care comes before everything else. Happy curious children supported by well-informed, engaged parents and educated by passionate, committed professionals. That's Harrow Guangzhou.
We are looking for two Deputy Heads to join our start-up team.
Our Head Master, Alex Reed, is in place, bringing with him a decade as a Head and over 30 years in education in the UK, China and New Zealand. Our functional teams are in place, supported by a committed, experienced Head Office not far away in Hong Kong. The construction is nearly complete. We are ready to go, and need two experienced, creative and ambitious Deputies to work with Alex and the team to shape the next ten years of our school.
We will shape the responsibility of each Deputy Head according to experience, skills and interest, but we are expecting one of the Deputy Heads to look after the curriculum and Upper School; the other Deputy Head will lead pastoral provision and will support the establishment of our Boarding provision.
