OBI Group Sourcing
is the sourcing unit for the OBI Group in Asia. Its key responsibility is the scouting, sourcing, quality assurance as well as organising the corresponding logistics for products sourced in Asia. Beside the main offices in
Hong Kong
and
Shanghai
, an additional representative office is located in
Ho Chi Minh City
.

Responsibilities:

Business development:

  • Responsible for category sourcing activity, including searching new product and new supplier, quality and price comparison, sample comparison, price negotiation, factory evaluation etc.
  • Responsible for project execution with milestone control and good time management
  • Work closely with the cross-functional teams to ensure on-time shipment.
  • Document management: Projects document filing and checking.

Customer and supplier management:

  • Communicate with overseas counterparts and business representatives to clarify inquiries and specifications;
  • Supplier management including supplier search, screen and identify potential supplier. Monitor suppliers' performance
  • Arrange and implement buying trip independently, including contact with supplier or vendor to arrange schedule, coordinate with supplier and buyer, accompany buying trip, prepare trip report etc.
  • Supplier negotiation: price review and control, claim settlement etc.
  • Maintain strong business relationships with vendors for product development and production.

Team development:

  • Managing and coaching subordinates: Responsible for team member management, monitor and coach subordinates to improve their capability, give on job business training to new subordinates, evaluate subordinates performance etc.
  • Continuous learning product knowledge, market trend, quality standards and so on.

  • Other tasks assigned by Supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or above with 5 years above independent
    product sourcing
    working experience in trading company or buying office
  • Experience in handling DIY products and European market is preferred
  • Strong negotiation, presentation and problem solving skill
  • Good time management and project management skills, can work on a project independently
  • Strong communication skills and negotiation skills
  • Good command of English
  • Sound PC knowledge including MS office
  • Candidates with more experience will be considered as Expert / Lead, Sourcing
