Responsible for assist the team head for business growth and the direction and coordination of all merchandising activities for assigned product lines from sourcing, product development, order execution through delivery to meet customer needs and achieve business objectives. PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

  • Identify customer requirements so that the business development activities undertaken can fulfill customer needs.
  • Determine appropriate price quotations so that the Company can secure sales order & maintain profitability.
  • Direct and coordinate the value chain process from Ordering to Production to Shipping so that products can be delivered to customers on time.
  • Identify vendors on shore and offshore for production and/or raw material supply and evaluate their production and service quality, ensure compliance standard and performance so that quality production can be ensured.
  • Establish and manage relationships with overseas customers so that sales can be enhanced, and business goals can be achieved.
  • Lead and manage the team under his/her supervision and motivate them to maximize their performance and ensure all purchase orders details are input into our Company Systems on a timely basis.
  • Participate in company strategic planning activities & recommend improvement & growth of the business.
  • Ensure order placement meets budget and within profit margin and commission rate guideline.
  • Monitor account receivable balance and bad debt ratio to ensure compliance with credit guidelines.
  • Minimize risk exposure to vendor compliance before order placement.
  • Any other tasks/projects as assigned.

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • Experience in trading or agent for soft home is a Must.
  • Rich knowledge over sweater and woven fabric and structural design to handle product development will be a plus.
  • Possess a strong sense of product interpretation from overseas briefs and online global market trends, to differentiate aesthetics and likes.
  • Excellent presentation skills and product development skills to in depth understand customer's product development strategy.
  • Able to manage cost, quality and delivery expectations as well as develop a sound vendor matrix.
  • Strong team management skills including oversee budgeting, lead the team to work effectively.
  • Knowledge of product line flows from yarn, weave to product. PERSONNEL SPECIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum 7 years proven supervisory experience on various home textile including 5 years hands on local/offshore sourcing.
  • Proven track record at developing mid- and high-tier customers.
  • Graduates from UK, USA universities or college in fine arts or architectural design discipline with a high aesthetics and passionate to build products will be advantageous.
  • Excellent salesmanship and fluency in Putonghua/English written and spoken.
  • Excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexible to frequent travel to attend trade fairs and factory / mill visit to capture the latest market availability to come up with a unique product proposition.
  • Good at online sourcing. (Less managerial experience will be considered as a Assistant Merchandising Manager.)
